So finally, 2016 has come to an end, with December being no less busy than previous months in my Masonic and personal calendar.
I have attended two excellent Perfection ceremonies in my District, at Mark Wilkinson Chapter in Darwen on 6th December and Bethel Chapter at Rawtenstall on 10th December. Both candidates I am pleased to say are at the younger end of the age scale for the Rose Croix Degree and I hope will have many happy years as members of our very special Order.
Elsewhere, I installed the Master Elect at Shuttleworth Council of the Allied Masonic Degrees in Burnley – our last meeting at that venue before our move to Colne Masonic Hall in March, visited a Rose Croix Chapter in Preston, attended the Mark Grand Stewards’ Lodge installation meeting, Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank Investiture and Quarterly Communication of Grand Lodge in London, quickly followed by a weekend in London with Sue, when we were guests of the Supreme Council for Christmas drinks and nibbles at 10 Duke Street.
To round off the month, Sue and I had a fantastic short break in Cornwall, staying at the Godolphin Arms in Marazion with a sea-view room overlooking St. Michael’s Mount, lots of fresh air, seafood and general relaxation. Roll on 2017!
