Enjoyed a very pleasant evening ‘off duty’ on Wednesday 14th October as a visitor to Rose of Lahore Chapter Rose Croix No.128 meeting at Freemasons Hall in Manchester.Obvious signs of progress being made with the redevelopment of the building, although nice to see the Sykes Lodge Room still preserved in its original condition (at least for the time being).
The Chapter has an unusual history, founded in 1893, meeting in Rawalpindi and later in Tarbela, both in what is now Pakistan. The Chapter was in abeyance from 1980 to 1981 and then (somehow) relocated to Manchester where is continues to meet today, with membership primarily composed of Mark Masons, many of whom are current or former rulers in the Province of East Lancashire.
Congratulations to Ill. Bro. Michael Green who was elected Sovereign for the ensuing year, looking forward to his enthronement in January (assuming I’m invited!).
